CocktailsCalifornia Julep Cocktail

Background

Most people think of charming Southern horse races when drinking a julep. Flouncy hats, lots of roses, and strains of My Old Kentucky Home come to mind. The famous Mint Julep cocktail has historic origins, all the way from London to Washington, D.C., and the famous “Old White” barroom in Virginia. Freixenet has an updated version, made with strawberry liquor, brandy, mint, and chilled Cordon Negro Brut Cava. A julep is, traditionally, a sweet drink used to disguise and deliver a less pleasant dose of medicine. Our California Julep is designed purely for pleasure, so mix, sit back, and enjoy.
