Red is the color of this busy, happy, beautiful season, and we’ve got the drink to go with it. The flavors of Cointreau, and pomegranate, mixed with Freixenet Cordon Negro bubbles, put the perfect punctuation on a long day of shopping, holiday planning, or just plain working, as the season moves into high gear. Pull out all the stops and use the cut crystal highball glassware and sterling swizzle sticks. If ever there was a cocktail that deserved them, this is it. While you’re testing the first one, you might want to write a decent holiday toast as well. You never know where that video will show up. Cheers!


  • 3/4 oz. Cointreau
  • 3/4 oz. Pomegranate Syrup
  • 2 dashes Angostura Bitters
  • 3 1/2 oz. Freixenet Cordon Negro Cava


Mix together in a 14 oz. glass with ice. Garnish with orange zest.
